Overheating of the hydraulic system of a rotary drilling rig is a common problem during construction. If the cause is not promptly identified, it may affect the performance of the equipment or even lead to malfunctions. The following analyzes the main causes of fever from six aspects:
1.Poor quality of hydraulic oil: If the viscosity of the oil is too high or it has oxidized and deteriorated, it will increase the flow resistance, causing energy loss to be converted into heat. It is necessary to replace the hydraulic oil that meets the standards regularly.
2. Excessive system pressure: When the set pressure of the relief valve exceeds the rated value or the safety valve frequently opens under excessive load, the hydraulic oil will generate throttling heat through the overflow port.
3. Cooling system failure: Radiator blockage, fan damage or insufficient cooling medium will lead to a decrease in heat dissipation efficiency, unable to remove the heat of the hydraulic oil in time, causing the temperature to rise.
4. Wear of hydraulic components: The internal clearance of parts such as pumps, valves, and cylinders increases, resulting in an increase in leakage, a decrease in volumetric efficiency, and the release of excess energy in the form of heat.
5. Unreasonable pipeline design: If the oil pipe diameter is too thin, has too many bends or is too long, it will increase the flow resistance of the oil, especially when operating at high frequencies, it is prone to accumulate heat.
6. Improper operating habits: Prolonged full-load or overloading operation, or prolonged idling, will keep the hydraulic system in a high-load state continuously, intensifying heat generation.
Conclusion: The heating of the hydraulic system of rotary drilling RIGS is mostly caused by the combined effect of multiple factors such as oil, pressure, heat dissipation, components, pipelines and operation. During construction, regular maintenance and upkeep are required. Pay attention to the condition of the oil and the operation of the cooling system, standardize operation habits, and promptly identify and solve abnormal heating problems to ensure the stable operation of the equipment and construction efficiency.
