  • Weather Protection: In rainy or snowy conditions, cover the drill rods with waterproof tarps to prevent moisture damage.


4. Unloading Precautions

Unloading is a critical step that requires careful handling:

  • Use Professional Equipment: Employ cranes, forklifts, or other specialized equipment for unloading to prevent uneven stress that might damage the drill rods.

  • Avoid Dropping: Ensure proper positioning of lifting straps during hoisting to prevent drill rods from falling or colliding with hard surfaces.

  • Orderly Stacking: After unloading, stack the drill rods neatly in the designated area, using wooden blocks or supports to keep them off the ground.


5. Storage Requirements

Proper storage after transportation is equally important:

  • Dry and Ventilated Environment: Store drill rods in a dry, well-ventilated indoor space to avoid exposure to moisture and corrosive substances.

  • Horizontal Placement: Place drill rods horizontally on supports or wooden blocks to maintain alignment and prevent bending.

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the drill rods for signs of rust, corrosion, or other abnormalities. Address any issues promptly.
