As a commonly used equipment in engineering construction, the service life of rotary drilling RIGS is closely related to the working environment. Improper environmental conditions may accelerate equipment wear, affect performance and even cause malfunctions. The following are six typical environments that can shorten the service life of rotary drilling RIGS:

1

1. High-hardness rock stratum environment: When working in hard rock strata such as basalt and granite, the drill bit and drill pipe are subjected to severe impacts, which can easily lead to tool wear and drill pipe breakage. Long-term use will significantly reduce the service life of the transmission system and structural components.

2. Water-rich sand layer environment: Loose sand layers are prone to form quicksand when exposed to water, making it difficult for mud to protect the wall during drilling, which may lead to hole collapse. Meanwhile, when sediment particles enter the hydraulic system with the water flow, it will accelerate the wear of precision components such as cylinders, pumps and valves.

3. Highly corrosive soil environment: In industrial pollution areas or coastal saline soil and other highly corrosive environments, the metal structures of equipment are prone to corrosion, and components such as hydraulic oil pipes and steel wire ropes will age more rapidly, and there is even a risk of breakage.

4. Dust-intensive environments: Working in places with high dust concentrations such as mines and tunnels, dust can easily enter the engine's intake system and lubrication system, causing cylinder wear and filter element blockage, resulting in reduced equipment power and frequent malfunctions.

5. Extreme temperature environment: Long-term operation at temperatures below -20℃ or above 40℃ can cause abnormal viscosity of hydraulic oil, hardening or softening of rubber seals, leading to oil leakage, reduced transmission efficiency, and shortened service life of various system components.

6. Steep and uneven terrain: When operating in areas with a large slope or soft ground, the shift of the equipment's center of gravity can easily lead to a risk of overturning. At the same time, the traveling mechanism and chassis structure are subjected to abnormal loads, causing premature damage to components such as outriggers and tracks.

Conclusion: The service life of rotary drilling RIGS is closely related to the working environment. Before construction, it is necessary to assess geological conditions and environmental factors, and take targeted protective measures (such as replacing wear-resistant parts, strengthening sealing and dust prevention, and controlling operation hours, etc.) to reduce equipment wear and tear and extend its efficient service life.
