High temperatures in summer can easily cause problems such as excessively high oil temperatures and component aging in small rotary drilling RIGS, affecting the performance and lifespan of the equipment. The following six types of simple and effective cooling measures can ensure the stable operation of the equipment in extremely hot environments:

3

1. Clean the cooling system: Regularly blow off the dust and oil stains on the surface of the radiator to ensure there are no obstructions between the fan and the heat sink. Pay special attention to inspecting the hydraulic oil radiator and the engine radiator to maintain the heat dissipation efficiency and avoid a sudden rise in oil temperature due to poor heat dissipation.

2. Optimize the hydraulic system: Check if the grade of hydraulic oil is suitable for high-temperature environments (it is recommended to use 46# anti-wear hydraulic oil in summer), replace deteriorated oil and clean the oil tank. Appropriately reduce the working pressure of the system (not exceeding 85% of the rated value) to minimize energy loss and heat generation.

3. Improve ventilation: Remove unnecessary obstructions from the cab and engine compartment to ensure that the air inlets and exhausts are unobstructed. Deflector plates can be installed to guide the airflow, or exhaust fans can be added to the top of the engine compartment to accelerate the discharge of hot air.

4. Regulate the work rhythm: Implement the work system of "working at both ends and taking breaks in the middle", and avoid the high-temperature period at noon (11:00-15:00). Stop the machine and idle it for 5 to 10 minutes every 1.5 hours of continuous operation to allow the equipment to dissipate heat naturally and avoid prolonged full-load operation.

5. Strengthen circuit maintenance: Check if the wiring harnesses are loose or aged, with a focus on inspecting the connection wires of heat-prone components such as generators and air conditioning compressors. Clean the oxide on the battery electrodes to ensure good heat dissipation of the circuit system and prevent overheating caused by excessive resistance.

6. Upgrade the cooling configuration: Install a water spray cooling device on the engine radiator to lower the coolant temperature through water circulation. Installing an independent air conditioner or evaporative cooling fan in the cab not only improves the operating environment but also indirectly reduces the equipment load caused by human error.

Conclusion: The cooling maintenance of small rotary drilling RIGS in summer should start from six aspects: heat dissipation, oil control, ventilation, rest adjustment, line protection, and upgrading. Through meticulous maintenance and scientific operation management, not only can the risk of high-temperature equipment failure be reduced, but also the service life of core components can be prolonged, ensuring the efficiency and safety of construction in summer.
